Our yearly tune up’s include:

  • Clean fuel pump, and regulate pressure
  • Oil motors
  • Inspect filter, above ground lines and connections
  • Check for an seal air leaks around door and base
  • Replace filter, nozzle, electrodes
  • Inspect, adjust, and clean blower as well sight glass
  • Flush the low water cut off
  • Check expansion tank and water circulator
  • Test and adjust all burner controls, excluding power vent system

Oil Fired Heating System Troubleshooting:

Some tips and tricks that you should think about and do before you turn your system on for the first time, before making a service call.

  • Check the Thermostat
    • Have a programmable thermostat? Check if the battery needs to be replaced.
    • Have a forced air furnace? Make sure that the thermostat switch that controls the furnace fan is switched to “on”
    • Make sure it’s set to heat, and that the temperature is set at least five degrees higher than the room temperature.
  • Check your fuel level
    • It may seem like a simple and obvious thing but it is one that is often overlooked.
    • Always make sure that you have a sufficient amount of oil so your system can run at the best condition.
    • Our home heating oil delivery department is also available for emergency deliveries.
  • Is your furnace on?
    • Many furnaces have an emergency power switch on the wall, which looks like a regular light switch. Make sure that it is switched on.
    • Be patient! It may take a few minutes for the furnace to begin running.
  • Check for Obstructions
    • Ensure that all heating register in your home are open, and that furnace vents are not blocked my snow or other objects.
  • How old is your oil fired heating system?
